Terms & Conditions

Our general terms and conditions (“General Terms and Conditions”) govern the basis on which we make available an easy-to-use website that provides everybody with the means for swapping goods and services ("Service"). The General Terms and Conditions can be found at: http://www.swapit.co.uk/terms_conditions

Membership of our research club ("SwapHeads") is governed by a separate set of terms and conditions (“SwapHeads Terms and Conditions”) contained in paragraphs 1-14 below, and by applying to register as a member of SwapHeads you confirm that you have read, and that you agree to, the SwapHeads Terms and Conditions:-

1. As part of the Service you may be invited to apply to register as a member of SwapHeads.

2. Membership of SwapHeads is by invitation only and you have no right to membership of SwapHeads by being a registered member of the Service.

3. Your membership of SwapHeads is wholly dependent on your membership of the Service. If your membership of the Service is cancelled or disabled for any reason then your membership of SwapHeads will also be automatically and simultaneously cancelled or disabled.

4. Important notice to applicants for membership of SwapHeads who are younger than 16 years old. By registering to become a member of SwapHeads you confirm that if you are under 16 years old you will not have given us any personal information about yourself (other than your age) until we have received a copy of the SwapHeads Parental Consent form [¦insert link] duly completed and signed by one of your parents or guardians. If any part of this confirmation does not apply your membership of SwapHeads will be invalid.

5. By registering to become a member of SwapHeads  you confirm that you are opting in to receive offers from us to take part in research activities. “Research activities” means online surveys, online polls, group discussions, paired depth interviews, in-home projects and product tests. We reserve the sole right to alter the definition of “research activities” without notifying the members of SwapHeads other than by publishing material alterations online in the SwapHeadsTerms and Conditions.

6. Your participation in research activities is not your right as a member of SwapHeads. All participation in research activities is by invitation only, and even in cases where you are invited to participate in research activities you may not qualify to do so.

7. Any survey link that is emailed to SwapHeads members or posted on www.swapitshop.com is for the sole use of SwapHeads members. You may not post links to SwapHeads online surveys or polls on any other website or email them to others. Surveys that you are invited to take part in as a member of SwapHeads are solely meant for you and are not to be shared with other people.

8. Research activities may from time to time take place in conjunction with third parties that have carefully been screened and approved by us ("Third Parties"). By agreeing to the SwapHeads Terms and Conditions you agree from time to time to receive invitations from us to take part in the research activities of Third Parties.

9. We reserve the sole right to disable or cancel your membership of SwapHeads if you do not participate in any research activities within a consecutive period of 12 months.

10. All information collected during research activities, and all rights in that information, shall belong exclusively to us and/or to the relevant Third Party or Parties (as the case may be). The information that you provide about yourself to us will only be used by us in accordance with our Privacy Policy. Our Privacy Policy does not apply to websites operated by third parties. We are registered under and adhere to the Data Protection Act (Registration Number Z8630714). Our Privacy Policy can be found at: http://www.swapit.co.uk/privacy_policy. In addition to our Privacy Policy, we comply with the Code of Conduct as set out by the Market Research Society. We also insist that all Third Parties abide by this Code of Conduct but cannot guarantee the conduct of Third Parties. We will not share personally identifiable details of any member of SwapHeads with Third Parties without the prior consent of that member or other than in accordance with applicable law.

11. We may from time to time offer Swapits as a reward for taking part in research activities. In these cases Swapits will only be rewarded to members of SwapHeads who fully participate in and complete the research activity for which the Swapits are offered. You will not necessarily be entitled to Swapits if you attempt to take part in research activities and are deemed by us or a Third Party to be ineligible to participate. When available, Swapits will be rewarded to all qualifying participants once the research activity is completed by all participating members of SwapHeads and not before this date.

12. You may cancel your membership of SwapHeads at any time by emailing swapheads@swapitshop.com.

13. All provisions of the General Terms and Conditions other than those which (a) are inapplicable to membership of SwapHeads or (b) are inconsistent with paragraphs 1-11 above are incorporated in the SwapHeads Terms and Conditions.
